Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Nov 09, 2008 7:57 pm Hi all, just wondering, if anyone is any good at reading plans, can you tell me how big my master bedroom is? Not including the WIR, and not including the bay window bit if possible. I can't work it out

It looked to me like the 4140 referred to the bit right up to the front of the bay window. But I don't know which other measurement it could be... Also I think the width might be 3600... the numbers might not have come thru well on the scanner! I think the size will be ok for us ... have been stressing about how small it looks in real life. Think have been looking at too many display homes with retreats and suites and things. Re: How big is my master bedroom? 5Nov 09, 2008 8:17 pm ok. thought it said 3400, I do need glassed though.
The front line doesn't really line up with anything. That measurement was the only one it could be. Plans in your contract should be to scale, so you can always get out your ruler and work it out that way. Re: How big is my master bedroom? 11Nov 10, 2008 9:35 am Looks can be so deceiving can't they!
We only have a frame at the mo, but I commented to DH that our master looked smaller than I had imagined. The funny thing is that it is actually bigger than the one we currently have Once, we kick the littlest out it will seem even bigger! Oh to finally have a bedroom of our very own Cheers, Dee ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Our BLOG: http://buildingourdreams.blogspot.com/ Building the 'DEE 257.9' Contract signed 08/09/08. Re: How big is my master bedroom? 12Nov 10, 2008 9:52 am The 4140 measurement includes the bay window if you dont want this included subtract the top left hand measurement from 4140. (the measurement to the left of the 1200) Not sure what it is, not really that clear. Re: How big is my master bedroom? 13Nov 10, 2008 12:50 pm Bananas The 4140 measurement includes the bay window if you dont want this included subtract the top left hand measurement from 4140. (the measurement to the left of the 1200) Not sure what it is, not really that clear. Bananas, I was wondering if that was the right thing to do too So it would be 4140 minus 540 (for that is the number to the left of the 1200) = 3600. So it's a square then? 3600 x 3600! Think I'll bring the tape measure next time I go to the house just to make sure!! thanks everyone for your help. Re: How big is my master bedroom? 17Nov 10, 2008 8:57 pm Mine is the same as yours Simone, 3.6x3.6.
I felt a bit ripped off for a start that DS1 bedroom is the same & the other 2 aren't far off, but with a big WIR, I've found that it is fine. Don't really need the extra space for anything anyway Re: How big is my master bedroom? 18Nov 10, 2008 9:07 pm Oh good, am re-assured again Jo am feeling very easily influenced today
Have you any pics of your room Jo? Would be interested to see how it looks with the bed in there... do you have a queen size bed? Re: How big is my master bedroom? 19Nov 10, 2008 9:15 pm Umm if it makes you all feel better.... I will be in 4m x 3.4m... but no WIR and no ensuite. Stop complaining donuts!!!!
There is width and length you have to worry about in the bedroom... but it's not dimensions of the room! I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. I do feel sorry for you with no ensuite or WIR though. But I'm sure you'll have lots of cupboards to compensate for any loss you might feel Thank you so much. This has been very helpful.
