Browse Forums Heating, Cooling & Insulation 1 Jul 04, 2023 6:48 pm Hello, I am planning on purchasing a house that has a sunroom. But am worried it will get too hot during summer and too cold during winter. Does anyone have experiences they can share for this? The sunroom faces north. One whole side is windows and another two sides is half window, half cladding. The last side is connected to the rest of the house with bi-fold doors. I'm not sure if windows are double glazed but doesn't seem like it from my uneducated guess. No fans or other ventilation system exists in the room. Thanks in advance! Re: How hot/cold does a sunroom get? 2Nov 03, 2023 1:48 pm Depends how much direct sun it gets. Is there any shading (eaves or trees)? If the sun hits a window directly it doesn't matter too much if it's double or single glazed. If it gets a lot of direct sun in summer then yes it will be very hot. Might be nice in winter, but with all the glass it will also be cold at night and when the sun doesn't show itself.
