Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry Re: really desperate for bathroom layout help!!! 21Jul 05, 2009 4:20 pm Have you considered a three-way bathroom?? Looks like you have the room. That way you do not need the small basin in the toilet. Also a lot more functionable if you have a large family (or lots of visitors). You can have someone in the toilet, someone in the shower and someone at vanity all at once. I would use option C but modify - walk into vanity area and have toilet room where shower is. Then have seperate room on right for shower/bath. (Also easier to duck to the loo when you turn the shower on) I would also not have a spa - back breaker with small children, hard for kids to get in/out and water waster. Good luck with it - its a personal taste thing and depends on what your main priorities in the bathroom are. The problem in my pre-renovation house was that three kids getting ready for school at the same time created kaos and lack of privacy - hence the need for a separate toilet - teenagers! progress viewtopic.php?f=31&t=20401 sculptures viewtopic.php?f=36&t=26607 pole trouble viewtopic.php?f=3&t=25988 Re: really desperate for bathroom layout help!!! 23Jul 05, 2009 4:40 pm I voted 'A' but not keen on the glass brick idea. Do you know how much you can see through those things! Re: really desperate for bathroom layout help!!! 24Jul 05, 2009 4:47 pm Each of them has their pros and cons. I agree that it is a luxury having a spa in a kids bathroom and if you can avoid a corner spa then do so... they are a nightmare and I have to say I'm not personally a fan of the corner bath/spa concept myself. Out of all of them I'm probably leaning most towards A. Instead of glass bricks between toilet and shower why don't you consider having a solid wall with a clear or frosted frameless window that extends from the ceiling down about 50-60cm.. that will allow light in as well as some privacy for both shower and toilet user. I would reconsider the glass brick concept on the external wall too too - I have had them in a bathroom before and they aren't the easiest thing to clean... especially with all the shampoo, toothpaste and goodness knows what else that teenagers throw around in the shower! Good Luck! Re: really desperate for bathroom layout help!!! 25Jul 05, 2009 4:52 pm fairy blue I voted 'A' but not keen on the glass brick idea. Do you know how much you can see through those things! Sorry tried to upload an example of a three-way bathroom but being new not sure what I'm doing....Basically you have three rooms - vanity, toilet and shower/bath. Great for privacy. The toilet and shower/bathroom have doors to the vanity area. Do a search on the net and you should find some examples.
