Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Tribeca Home 17Jul 18, 2023 7:35 pm mjessica Syed123 We signed up with Tribeca / Birdy for a land + house package in Dec'20. Land was supposed to be registered in May-June'21 initially. Land registeration got delayed till 24-Dec-21, and now we have received a letter for an upward revision in construction cost by 15%. I do get that there have been a major change in price variations over the past 12 months, but a 15% revision (which turns out to be over 60k) is at the very high end. I have obtained quotes from more builder, one of which is a major builder, and even with upgradation / variations is better cost wise. Considering there is limited information on the company and the feedback about end product / finished is not really positive. Have another friend who had a 10% revision with a different builder but they were happy to negotiate it down to 5% but Tribeca seems to be non-considerate. Seriously confused as there is no permanent contact number either with complaints of the finished product of being low quality really having my doubts. Anyone else had a similar situation? Couple of people who have been speaking to me from the company seems to be really nice and looks like they want to help, but doesn't look like they have much power. Hi Syed, we also have the same issue. We finally pulled out and they gave me a full refund of my deposit. Have you have your house completed by now? Hi Jess, you had a building contract with Tribeca homes? Was it a full turn key contract? How did you pull out and manage to get a full refund of your deposit? I’m sorry for throwing the questions all at once I’m just nervous as it is my first property. The land was suppose to settle in June 2023 but looks like it will be delayed by couple of months. We already paid for somfy motors for the blinds. The quote above was purely for “pre-wiring” so the blinds company can install the motors and blinds.
