The highest temperature recorded was 28, the lowest 18. The house was a display and had no tenants during that time, so nobody was closing the courtains when the days were hot and opening the windows for the breeze at night. If it had been occupied, the results would be much better. The house was built using passive solar principles, mentioned by Windowexpert, had no airconditioing and no heating. Chris 28 is too high for me, I would still want A/C. At this stage of the game, not having it will hurt resale value. Sad, but true. Do you know anything about the weather where I'm from? Maybe I should try to grow wings and fly too. I am acclimatized as much as I'm going to get. I came from California that has roughly the same temps and conditions as Sydney. I lived there most of my life, so nothing is going to change on my end. My point in all I've said is that it's fine and dandy for all you eco fanatics to tell me not to put in AC, but some of us are different to you, and we will have things like AC. I am happy to pay for it, and happy to pay for renewable energy sources to power it if and when they become available. I'm not saving the world today, just myself. No more dead horse beating, me included. What was this thread about? 3 Phase:) Yes, get 3 phase:) Greg Re: 3 phase or single phase 19Oct 13, 2008 9:36 pm Gpierce,

All I ever said was that in a well designed house it's not necessary for most people. If you like it cold, you can put in a 30kW unit in and your own power plant in your backyard, for all I care.
